Here’s How Child Sexual Abuse Victims Are Seeking Justice On Facebook

Social media is a powerful outlet for people to post information regarding their personal lives. While it can have its adverse effects, it can also be helpful in more ways than one. People have taken to social media, Facebook specifically, to seek advice, ask for help, and for some people, to post their own personal stories of sexual abuse, and even help them put their assailants in jail.

Abuse.

Matt Lauzon was allegedly sexually abused at a young age by a man who lived in his home town of Biddeford, Maine, according to the Inquisitr. Lauzon claims the man lived across the street from a baseball field he would frequent often. Afraid of what his religious father would think, Lauzon chose to keep his assault a secret. However, Lauzon’s father somehow became aware that the man who assaulted Lauzon had been in contact with him. However, due his deep-seated feelings of fear and shame, Lauzon kept quiet when detectives came to interview him.
